Virtualized IT infrastructures can simplify management and facilitate business continuity while helping minimize power consumption and procurement costs. Virtualization also helps organizations automate disaster recovery plans. Dell EqualLogic PS Series arrays and VMware® Site Recovery Manager (SRM) software provide integrated, cost-effective, automated site recovery and testing for enterprise data centers.
To better understand how integrated, automated management tools can improve IT productivity,
Kaseya recently posed the following questions to Mary Johnston Turner, research director for IDC's System Management Software service, on behalf of Kaseya's corporate IT customers.
Whether the number is a minority or a majority of total sales order volume, fax often represents the bulk of a company’s order management expenses. Fax orders typically require a separate processing environment made up of fax machines or, preferably, fax server software to capture orders and distribute them among CSRs who enter the information into ERP applications.
Electronics and Software Engineering are quickly merging with traditional Mechanical Engineering to create a new paradigm in auto manufacturing: Mechatronics. Industry experts predict that this shift will bring about profound advances in automotive product development. Unfortunately, existing IT and process infrastructures do not provide sufficient capabilities to support the new paradigm: multiple data silos, a lack of standardized processes, and integration issues on a tool level (Mechanical, Electronic, Software) continue to pose serious obstacles to development efficiency, and remain a frequent source of delays, quality issues and cost increases.

Recent new technology introductions are fundamentally changing the way we utilize and manage IT resources. This whitepaper shows how these new processes and automation solutions deliver the agility and extensibility to maintain performance and relia
Traditional performance management solutions were built for applications owned by the enterprise and run inside the corporate network. The explosive adoption of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and cloud applications have brought new performance management challenges that push the limits of the enterprise infrastructure and break these traditional approaches. In this white paper, we examine why existing solutions don’t work for the modern enterprise and discuss a fundamentally different approach that is needed to address the new challenges. Traditional enterprise performance management solutions were designed for applications running inside the corporate network and are unable to provide visibility beyond the corporate network perimeter. With the rapid adoption of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications by enterprises, these performance management solutions that are completely blind to issues outside the enterprise, are unable to help IT teams troubleshoot performance problems with the SaaS applications.

Construction companies are meeting the challenge of ever-intensifying competition by refining their business operations with standardized operating practices and “visible” information that is shared among multiple departments.
“Before, only owners who wanted to grow a very large company would worry about transitioning from the informal business they started to formalized, standardized business processes,” says Jim Flynn, CEO of Maxwell Systems, a leading provider of construction management software solutions, expert services, and best practices. “But in the current environment, you also have to make that transition just to stay competitive and improve your profitability.”
In the application economy, speed, innovation and quality have become table stakes. If you can’t meet your customers’ expectations, they will surely find a competitor who can. Whether your organization is in one of the sectors facing the most intense digital competition—insurance, banking, telecommunications or retail—or in a more traditional industry, how rapidly and successfully you embrace a software-driven digital transformation strategy will likely have a profound effect on your organization’s long term viability. Within this transformation sphere, the development of “omnichannel” or “digitally-connected multi-channel” capabilities is a key priority. CA Technologies can help you deliver a consistent, integrated and quality customer experience, regardless of how your customers choose to interact with you.
Agile methods have proven effective for software development and have grown in popularity across a number of software disciplines. Agile methods build capabilities using an iterative approach, as opposed to traditional approaches where requirements are defined early and designs are completed in full before a single line of code is written. Agile incrementally defines requirements with priorities, partial component designs and working systems that evolve through iterations called sprints.
The question remains, however: Do the 12 agile principles apply to more than just software? Agile principles are in line with lean management’s approach. Given that, it seems as though agile principles should directly apply beyond software development. However, the answer is not straightforward, because differences between software and physical components affect how agile is applied. Let’s explore how agile can be applied in light of these differences.
