DigiCert implemented Imperva to protect their hybrid environment. They were already using Imperva’s WAF on-premises to defend against Layer 7 attacks, known threats, and zero-day attacks to rapidly identify the threats that required investigation. By expanding their usage of Imperva, DigiCert was able to extend protection to AWS and maintain their security posture both during and after migration. Imperva’s sophisticated threat detection technology draws upon vast experience in the WAF market. As traffic passes through their network, advanced client classification technology (together with crowdsourcing and IP reputation data) automatically analyzes it to identify and block web application attacks. These include SQL injection, cross-site scripting, illegal resource access, comment spam, site scraping, malicious bots, and other top threats. Granular filters and controls reduce false positives and prevent access from unwanted visitors, while IP address shielding hides the web server’s IP

As marketers chase after the same people with the same tactics, traditional marketing has become less worth the time—and the money. Email outreach worked until spam clogged up inboxes. Content marketing worked until everybody started to put out sub-standard material. And search engine marketing worked until it became inundated with new players clamoring for attention. Even inbound tactics aren’t delivering the results they once did. And as the need for performance continues to climb, so does the status of account-based marketing (ABM). In the B2B sphere it’s on the tip of everyone’s tongue. Download this whitepaper to learn more about ABM, a potent approach that puts sales and marketing together.

We’ve heard it before. A data warehouse is a place for formally-structured, highly-curated data, accommodating recurring business analyses, whereas data lakes are places for “raw” data, serving analytic workloads, experimental in nature. Since both conventional and experimental analysis is important in this data-driven era, we’re left with separate repositories, siloed data, and bifurcated skill sets. Or are we? In fact, less structured data can go into your warehouse, and since today’s data warehouses can leverage the same distributed file systems and cloud storage layers that host data lakes, the warehouse/lake distinction’s very premise is rapidly diminishing. In reality, business drivers and business outcomes demand that we abandon the false dichotomy and unify our data, our governance, our analysis, and our technology teams. Want to get this right? Then join us for a free 1-hour webinar from GigaOm Research. The webinar features GigaOm analyst Andrew Brust and special guest, Dav

We’ve arrived at the second anniversary of the Equifax breach and we now know much more about what happened due to the August 2018 release of the GAO Report. New information came out of that report that was not well-understood at the time of the breach. For example, did you know that while Equifax used a tool for network layer decryption, they had certificates nine months out of date? This lapse gave the threat actors all the time they needed to break in and exfiltrate reams of personal data. As soon as Equifax updated the certs on their decryption tools, they began to realize what happened. On the heels of the Equifax breach, we are reminded of the importance of efficient decryption for effective threat detection. That’s more important than ever today; Ponemon Institute reports that 50% of all malware attacks utilize encryption. During this webinar, we’ll talk about: -How TLS/SSL encryption has become a threat vector -Why decryption is essential to security and how to effectively pe

The IT pendulum is swinging to distributed computing environments, network perimeters are dissolving, and compute is being distributed across various parts of organizations’ infrastructure—including, at times, their extended ecosystem. As a result, organizations need to ensure the appropriate levels of visibility and security at these remote locations, without dramatically increasing staff or tools. They need to invest in solutions that can scale to provide increased coverage and visibility, but that also ensure efficient use of resources. By implementing a common distributed data services layer as part of a comprehensive security operations and analytics platform architecture (SOAPA) and network operations architecture, organizations can reduce costs, mitigate risks, and improve operational efficiency.

Network operations teams can no longer ignore the application layer. Application experience can make or break a digital enterprise, and today most enterprises are digital. To deliver optimal performance, network operations tools must be application-aware. However, application-awareness in the network and security tool layer is expensive and difficult to scale. Enterprises can mitigate these challenges with a network visibility architecture that includes application-aware network packet brokers (NPBs). EMA recommends that today’s network operations teams modernize their approach with full application visibility. EMA research has found that network teams are increasingly focused on directly addressing security risk reduction, service quality, end-user experience, and application performance. All of these new network operations benchmarks will require deeper application-level visibility. For instance, a network team focused on service quality will want to take a top-down approach to perfo

While threat prevention continues to improve with the use of advanced techniques, adversaries are outpacing these advances requiring security teams to implement threat detection and response programs. Security teams are often addressing the process haphazardly, using disconnected point tools and manual processes that consume too many analysts and result in slow mean-time to detection and response. While EDR has enabled security teams to take important steps forward for detection and response, ultimately it can only look at the endpoints which limits the scope of threats that can be detected and if something is detected, limits the view of who and what is affected and thus, how best to respond. ESG therefore recommends looking beyond the endpoint and utilizing natively integrated security solutions across more than just one vector to improve detection and response times. The more data you can knit together, the more effective you can be to uncover the security incidents most dangerous to your organization. Watch this webinar to learn about the value of XDR: connecting detection and response across multiple security layers. Dave Gruber, senior analyst at ESG, shares recent research and his views on the evolution of threat detection and response; making the case for expanding the capabilities and expectations of detection and response solutions. Wendy Moore, VP of Product Marketing, discusses Trend Micro’s own XDR strategy and the unique value that Trend Micro can bring to detection, investigation and response.

Today’s security appliances and agents must wait until malware reaches the perimeter or endpoint before they can detect or prevent it. OpenDNS arrests attacks earlier in the kill chain. Enforcing security at the DNS layer prevents a malicious IP connection from ever being established or a malicious file from ever being downloaded. This same DNS layer of network security can contain malware and any compromised system from exfiltrating data. Command & control (C2) callbacks to the attacker’s botnet infrastructure are blocked over any port or protocol. Unlike appliances, the cloud service protects devices both on and off the corporate network. Unlike agents, the DNS layer protects every device connected to the network — even IoT. It is the easiest and fastest layer of security to deploy everywhere.
