Executives, managers, and users will not trust data unless they understand where it came from. Enterprise metadata is the “data about data” that makes this trust possible. Unfortunately, many healthcare and life sciences organizations struggle to collect and manage metadata with their existing relational and column-family technology tools.
MarkLogic’s multi-model architecture makes it easier to manage metadata, and build trust in the quality and lineage of enterprise data. Healthcare and life sciences companies are using MarkLogic’s smart metadata management capabilities to improve search and discovery, simplify regulatory compliance, deliver more accurate and reliable quality reports, and provide better customer service. This paper explains the essence and advantages of the MarkLogic approach.
Throughout its operations, Broadlawn Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center has embraced technology as a means of enhancing resident safety and independence, and staff productivity. The facility had been a satisfied user of STANLEY Healthcare’s WatchMate wander management system for many years, but in 2010, Vice President of Senior Services Gerard Kaiser and his team embarked on a review of Broadlawn Manor’s wander management needs and took the decision to migrate to a new generation of technology with greater functionality.
Read this case study to learn how Long Island Nursing & Rehabilitation Center achieves more accurate, convenient and efficient wander management with RoamAlert® Solution.
Deliver better services, reduce expenses and comply with regulations are familiar business demands heard by financial services IT leaders. Simultaneously, the time and cost of managing custom apps to run core business operations continues to rise. Not only does this obstruct the speed of innovation adoption, it also increases the need for better end user experiences due to app management volume.
How can financial services IT teams enable more efficacy alongside business growth, while reducing their own IT management burden? This ebook examines four ways financial services organizations can deliver apps and manage users at scale while reducing costs and optimizing existing investments.
As Mobile is the new normal for users to connect and consume content, you need to consider apps, mobile integration, security, analytics, development tools, life-cycle management, various mobile stakeholders, and the overall enterprise mobile ecosystem.
Countless organizations are deploying digital workspace solutions to meet the demands of today’s mobile end users and the IT administrators that support them. The goal is to empower users to work from anywhere, on any device—mobile or laptop—at any time. However, architecting a secure, seamless, scalable digital workspace solution is not necessarily easy, which is where this paper helps.
When developing your digital workspace, it is important to keep five key considerations in mind, both on the front end and the back end of your environment:
• Seamless, secure end-user access to applications and files
• Easy-to-use enterprise app store
• Management security
• Fully integrated infrastructure stack
• Agnostic platform with a broad ecosystem
Download this white paper to see how to approach these major considerations, with detailed strategies, and provide recommendations for effectively addressing each one.
Organizations understand they must rethink traditional approaches to application delivery and management to stay relevant in an increasingly digital world. A consumer-simple, enterprise-secure digital workspace that unifies user, desktop, and mobile device management to deliver business outcomes can be the foundation for business mobility projects directly linked to process change and innovation. Find out how digital workspace first-movers experience business, operational, and financial benefits while those that wait are falling behind, by downloading this State of the Digital Workspace report.
What is a digital workspace and what does it take to create one? If we break it down, the workspace is a portal for end users into all of their apps and online services that they canseamlessly and securely access across devices and locations. But what makes the workspace of today different from the desktop or mobile device of the past? And how can you move forward with delivering a digital workspace?
Download this solution brief to learn how VMware® Workspace™ ONE™is designed to deliver a digital workspace that integrates device management, application delivery, and identity management into a single platform on your terms, via your data center, in the cloud, or through a combination of the two. This workspace can be accessed by your end users across devices and locations and be centrally secured and supported to streamline management and improve the quality of services you deliver across the entire organization.

Business users are a key part of a company\'s security, and even the most conscientious employees can introduce serious breaches of security policy. IT can do everything in its power to secure the company\'s confidential documents--provide first-class security infrastructure, develop reasonable security policies and engage in extensive communication and training--yet still people fail to comply. The solution is to provide security that helps people do their jobs more efficiently, thereby inducing users to follow best security practices without even knowing it.

Once relegated to early adopters and casual home users, VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) has matured. An essential element of any unified communications (UC) system, it is now the standard method of voice communication in business, education, government and healthcare. If your organization has not already migrated to VoIP, the question is not so much if it will, but when. Cost is the primary driver, since the data network performs double duty by carrying voice traffic as well. VoIP also offers capabilities that far exceed traditional phone systems, with unified communication platforms promising to integrate messaging, mobility, collaboration, relationship management, zoned security, intelligent call routing, disaster recovery, video, teleconferencing, status updates and other advanced features.
The transition to VoIP presents a number of challenges, including

How much does your organization know about the software vulnerabilities that put data and users at risk? Chances are it is less than you think. Software vulnerability management can significantly reduce enterprise risk, and this paper offers a risk reduction plan, demonstrates why vulnerability management is important today, and offers eye-opening statistics as to the nature and breadth of the issue.
It is not surprising that keeping data secure and keeping users safe continues to challenge organizations of every size and type. There has been an explosion in the number of applications used to conduct business in recent years. This multidimensional expansion includes continued growth in mobile devices and enterprise application spending exposing new attack surfaces that malware can prey upon.
"Today’s IT organizations simply cannot afford to continue to manage the end user environment with an out-of-date PC-centric approach to systems management. The cloud, mobility and multiplatform environments render that approach ineffective. It’s time to take another look at virtual application and desktop
virtualization technologies. Download this whitepaper to look at VMware Horizon, the most complete solution for delivering, managing and protecting Windows desktops, applications and online services across devices, locations, media and connections, making it ideal for systems management transformation. "
"Mobile and cloud deployment issues are dominating the concerns of organizations today. End-user mobility and flexibility versus IT control and visibility are the opposing requirements challenging even the most nimble of environments. Organizations are searching for several key capabilities to address this dichotomy:
• Infrastructure that is optimized for end users to drive down costs, simplify acquisition, upgrade easily, and support policy management
• Flexibility in delivering workspaces to users—on-premises, cloud, and offline—all within a unified workspace with single sign-on
• Management capabilities encompassing the entire ecosystem and providing security, compliance, and management of day-to-day end-user environments
Download this asset to learn how VMware addresses these needs more effectively than Citrix with the VMware mobile-cloud architect."
Traditional web applications pre-date modern standards like SAML and OpenIDConnect, so they often use legacy authentication methods to grant end users access. Historically, providing Single Sign-On and centralized access management for end users across these legacy applications required a Web Access Management, or WAM, product. These on-premises software tools could be expensive to maintain and complex to deploy. Now, modern identity providers like Okta in conjunction with best-of-breed network management technologies offer a better way. This white paper describes how web applications that lack modern standard support can be integrated into a cloud-based Identity-as-a-service architecture.
Organizations undergoing digital transformations are dealing with amplified concerns around risk and security, which isn’t surprising. Digital transformation initiatives inevitably result in more points of access to enterprise infrastructure that are outside of existing controls, accessible by a greater number and more diverse set of identities, and proliferated across a distributed and dynamic infrastructure.
Knowing your privileged users is knowing your risk. Privileged access management tools themselves must be able to support automation in the authorization process and enable scalability through support for both dynamic operations and ephemeral infrastructure.
Better pinpointing attacks exploiting credential theft isn’t simply a question of accumulating more data but involves incorporating better data about privileged user behaviour, which can identify significant changes that represent real risk.
