IKEA uses one common finance system globally making accounting quicker and easier. Their standard Chart of Accounts updates information in real time from IKEA's operational systems, so each store has on-demand access to real-time performance data.
To compete in today’s fast-paced business climate, enterprises need
accurate and frequent sales and customer reports to make real-time
operational decisions about pricing, merchandising and inventory
management. They also require greater agility to respond to business
events as they happen, and more visibility into business activities so
information and systems are optimized for peak efficiency and performance.
By making use of data capture and business intelligence to
integrate and apply data across the enterprise, organizations can capitalize
on emerging opportunities and build a competitive advantage.
The IBM® data replication portfolio is designed to address these issues
through a highly flexible one-stop shop for high-volume, robust, secure
information replication across heterogeneous data stores.
The portfolio leverages real-time data replication to support high

A hardware and software system specifically designed for the database software to optimize database operations, both for performance and administrative simplicity. An environment that supports workload consolidation, thereby reducing the number of physical servers required for the databases in question.
Benefits: Reduced cost and optimal performance.
The war for talent is back. But this time, the way to win it isn’t by solidifying your employment brand or ramping up your recruiting machine. In fact, there are probably plenty of people aware of and even applying to your jobs. So why is it still so hard to find the right talent?

Financial consolidation systems are the ‘engine room’ of the corporate finance department, enabling companies of all sizes to comply with regulatory reporting requirements, company law and global accounting standards as well satisfy management’s need for periodic management reporting.
But all is not well with standalone consolidations applications that were developed in the 1990’s and which are still commonplace in some of the world’s largest multinationals.
According to one recent report, 47 percent of companies have made substantial investments in the last year in their financial close, filing, and reporting. Yet, despite the considerable sums
of money invested in the process, management teams across the globe remain dissatisfied with the quality and timeliness of management information.

The all-flash array (AFA) market has undergone significant maturation over the past two years. A high percentage of customers have already committed to an "all flash for primary storage" strategy, and every customer interviewed for this study was among those. In 2017, AFAs will drive over 80% of all primary storage revenue. All of the established storage vendors have entered this space, and there are several start-ups with over $100 million in revenue. With this level of market maturation, multiple segments have developed within the primary flash array space. There are systems targeted for dedicated application deployment, there are systems specifically for web-scale applications, and there are systems intended for dense mixed workload consolidation. These latter systems are driving most of the AFA revenue, and they aspire to become the primary storage platforms of record for enterprises of all sizes. This study evaluates the suitability of 10 vendors' AFA platforms for dense mixed ent
Oracle Private Cloud Appliance is a converged infrastructure system designed for rapid and simple deployment of private cloud at an industry-leading price point. Whether customers are running Linux, Microsoft Windows or Oracle Solaris applications, Oracle Private Cloud Appliance supports consolidation for a wide range of mixed workloads in medium-to-large sized data centers.
High-performance, low-latency Oracle Fabric Interconnect and Oracle SDN allow automated configuration of the server and storage networks. The embedded controller software automates the installation, configuration, and management of all infrastructure components at the push of a button. Customers need to enter only basic configuration parameters and create virtual machines (VMs) manually or by using Oracle VM Templates to get a full application up and running in a few hours. With Oracle Enterprise Manager, the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance is transformed into a powerful private cloud infrastructure that integrates

Big data projects often entail moving data between multiple cloud and legacy on-premise environments. A typical scenario involves moving data from a cloud-based source to a cloud-based normalization application, to an on-premise system for consolidation with other data, and then through various cloud and on-premise applications that analyze the data. Processing and analysis turn the disparate data into business insights delivered though dashboards, reports, and data warehouses - often using cloud-based apps.
The workflows that take data from ingestion to delivery are highly complex and have numerous dependencies along the way. Speed, reliability, and scalability are crucial. So, although data scientists and engineers may do things manually during proof of concept, manual processes don't scale.
Data centers are large, important investments that, when properly designed, built, and operated, are an integral part of the business strategy driving the success of any enterprise. Yet the central focus of organizations is often the acquisition and deployment of the IT architecture equipment and systems with little thought given to the structure and space in which it is to be housed, serviced, and maintained. This invariably leads to facility infrastructure problems such as thermal “hot spots”, lack of UPS (uninterruptible power supply) rack power, lack of redundancy, system overloading and other issues that threaten or prevent the realization of the return on the investment in the IT systems.

In this white paper Quest's data protection experts offer five tips for effective backup and recovery to help you avoid the challenges that might keep you from fully protecting your virtual assets and infrastructure.
Picking the right servers, storage systems and management software is essential to successful IT consolidation initiatives. In the past, either scaling up (bigger, faster servers) or scaling out (more servers) would have been the answer. But one platform does not fit all needs. Scaling right means picking the scaleup or scale-out approach—or combination of the two—that best fits each situation.
Increased processing needs means increased energy costs. In fact, power costs can often exceed hardware costs. Read this white paper and see how the pairing of new IBM System x and BladeCenter servers with the new Intel Xeon Processor 5500 series can reduce costs and improve performance.

State agency and higher education CIOs are under intense pressure to modernize their legacy IT systems. Whether that requires moving from one infrastructure to another, or moving to or from the cloud, the chief challenge remains: How to migrate data and applications without disrupting critical operations, ensure improved performance and avoid pricing and other traps that often accompany virtualizing in the cloud.
Learn what’s made the difference in overcoming the impediments to workload migrations from IT leaders who’ve lived through big data and application moves. Topics include:
Preparing workloads for cloud on-boarding – and off-boarding
Tools for simplifying the consolidation and migration of apps and supporting services
Forecasting workloads, and planning for associated testing, training, and other costs
In today's heightened competitive and regulatory environment, an organization's fortunes can rise or fall based on the effectiveness of its financial systems, particularly those that drive its performance management. Organizations today are looking to optimize these systems, at the core of which are financial consolidation and planning.
