As our businesses become increasingly digital, we tend to think about technology in non-physical terms. Our IT infrastructure becomes “the cloud.” Our servers and storage become “virtual.” Our networks become “software-defined.”
Windows Server 2012 represents a paradigm shift from the traditional client/server model to a new cloud-based infrastructure. Is your business ready? Download this whitepaper to learn the 7 key questions you need to answer now

Using your allotted resources wisely is admirable. However, have you thought in detail about the real costs associated with using “white box” servers? The Cisco Unified Computing System™ (Cisco UCS®) delivers advantages, including a lower total cost of ownership (TCO), beyond those that white-box servers can deliver.

With HPE ProLiant Gen9 servers, you can redefine your IT infrastructure so that it’s converged, software-defined, cloud-ready, and workload-optimized. HPE ProLiant Gen9 servers can help organizations align IT infrastructures with key business outcomes: running operations efficiently, accelerating IT service delivery, and increasing business productivity and performance.
Hyperconvered infrastructure -- the meddling together of servers and storage into a single appliance with streamlined management -- is a technology growing in popularity even as people struggle to figure out exactly what it can do, what it can't do, and just how it impacts the IT organization.
Technology enables business transformation To thrive in today’s idea economy, small and midsize companies like yours are using technology to transform their business. Like your peers, you know that mobile applications, cloud-based solutions, and advanced analytics can help you increase productivity, reduce costs, and grow your business. Older servers, storage, and networking products weren’t built to handle the exploding amount of data that is being shared today. In order to take advantage of these modern applications, many companies have found that they need to close the gap between what their business demands and what their IT systems can deliver.

With the 'EMC Mission Control' center in Portsmouth, UK and a second at the America’s Cup venue in Bermuda, plus a mobile center travelling worldwide to the preliminary events, Land Rover BAR will have all its data continuously replicated. The team in Portsmouth can analyze race and testing data immediately, as well as identify and make improvements right up to and through the finals in June 2017. This allows the design team and the crew to adapt much faster. With the introduction of the VCE VxRail Appliance powered by Intel® Xeon® processors, Land Rover BAR will be able to flexibly and rapidly scale, irrespective of location, ensuring a seamless experience for the team. Read this paper to learn how Dell has used its Generation 12 servers powered by Intel® Xeon® processors with direct attached storage to demonstrate that a system with 43% flash and intelligent tiering can perform as well as 100% flash for OLTP databases using Microsoft’s SQL server.
Many distributed offices are eager to simplify a complex, unwieldy mix of heterogeneous IT equipment. The Dell ™P converges servers, storage, networking and management into an office-optimized chassis the size of a tower server.
Read this white paper and learn how:
• Cloud technology bridges the gap between IT and the business, but on-premises cloud deployments often offer a lower TCO than the public cloud.
• Dell enables organizations to create and manage cloud solutions customized to unique needs.
• Organizations have several options for building a cloud infrastructure based on Dell solutions.
• In the realm of cloud computing, Dell differentiates itself through servers, storage, networking, and integration with infrastructure and management tools.
• Implementing a cloud environment requires stakeholder identification, as well as resources and capabilities.
The HP Flex-Bundles for Exchange 2013 are right-sized solutions including servers, storage, networking and services that have been optimized for Microsoft Exchange. There are two HP Flex-Bundles for Exchange. One has been configured for customers who have 200–499 mailboxes and another one for customers with 500-1000 mailboxes.
These solutions are low risk investments because HP understands how to build infrastructures for Microsoft environments and applications. HP and Microsoft have the longest standing relationship in the IT industry spanning 30 years. During this time, HP has gained a deep and comprehensive understanding of Microsoft products. HP has more than 34,000 trained Microsoft specialists, with over 13,000 of them attaining Microsoft-certification. HP has been named Microsoft Enterprise Partner of the Year five times and is Microsoft’s largest Gold Certified partner.

In ESG research conducted shortly after the announced acquisition of EMC by Dell, 65% of the respondents indicated that they expected to benefit from more complete and innovative solutions from the combined company. That’s not surprising, given the complementary strength of their respective portfolios. Perhaps the most potential synergy is in the Converged Platforms and Solutions division, where servers, networking, storage and software come together.

If your business uses a three-tier architecture with disaggregated servers, storage, and SAN to run applications, you might be considering upgrading to an integrated solution to streamline your business. However, implementing a hyperconverged Dell EMC XC Series cluster powered by Nutanix software is an even more attractive option that can provide over 73 percent greater database performance - an advantage that translates to 50 percent greater database performance per dollar than a traditional integrated solution.
As flash storage has permeated mainstream computing, enterprises are coming to better understand
not only its performance benefits but also the secondary economic benefits of flash deployment at
scale. This combination of benefits — lower latencies, higher throughput and bandwidth, higher
storage densities, much lower energy and floor space consumption, higher CPU utilization, the need
for fewer servers and their associated lower software licensing costs, lower administration costs, and
higher device-level reliability — has made the use of AFAs an economically compelling choice
relative to legacy storage architectures initially developed for use with hard disk drives (HDDs). As
growth rates for hybrid flash arrays (HFAs) and HDD-only arrays fall off precipitously, AFAs are
experiencing one of the highest growth rates in external storage today — a compound annual growth
rate (CAGR) of 26.2% through 2020.
When your company’s work demands a new storage array, you have the opportunity to invest in a solution that can support demanding workloads simultaneously—such as online transaction processing (OLTP) and data mart loading.
At Principled Technologies, we compared Dell EMC™ PowerEdge™ R930 servers1 with the Intel® Xeon® Processor Dell EMC Unity 400F All Flash storage array to HPE ProLiant DL580 Gen9 servers with the HPE 3PAR 8400 array in three hands-on tests to determine how well each solution could serve a company during these database-intensive tasks.

In most use cases involving flash storage deployments, the business environment changes, driving a need for higher-performance storage. However, the case of Epic Systems Corporation software is the opposite—the storage requirements haven’t changed recently, but the options for addressing them have.
Epic, a privately-held company founded in 1979 and based in Verona,Wisconsin, makes applications for medical groups, hospitals and other healthcare organizations. Epic software typically exhibits high frequency, random storage accesses with stringent latency requirements. IBM has been working with Epic to develop host-side and storage-side solutions to meet these requirements. Extensive testing has demonstrated that the combination of IBM® POWER8™ servers and IBM FlashSystem™ storage more than meets the performance levels Epic recommends for the backend storage supporting its software implementations—at a cost point multiple times lower than other storage alternatives.
The need to simplify IT complexity has created a whole new market for converged infrastructure solutions that bring together servers, storage, networking, and systems software into a unified solution that is easier to deploy and manage. While these solutions can indeed help reduce operational costs and increase agility, Oracle believes there is a better approach.

In the new age of big data, applications are leveraging large farms of powerful servers and extremely fast networks to access petabytes of data served for everything from data analytics to scientific discovery to movie rendering. These new applications demand fast and efficient storage, which legacy solutions are no longer capable of providing.

Clearly, data centre modernisation can achieve a wide variety of business benefits for an equally wide variety of organisations. Data centre modernisation programmes are also far reaching. They reach way beyond the desire to merely reduce costs. They add significant business value, and often become the essential cornerstone of digital transformation.
When starting on your own path towards modernisation, it’s vital to recognise that your success depends on making use of advanced public cloud services that sit at the vanguard of enterprise technology’s capabilities. If they don’t, you risk not being able to gain access to a world of new possibilities.
