Analytics has permeated, virtually, every department within an organization. It’s no longer a ‘nice to have’. It’s an organizational imperative. HR, specifically, collects a wealth of data; from recruiting applications, employee surveys, performance management data and it sits in systems that remain largely untapped. This data can help drive strategic decisions about your workforce. Analytic tools have, historically, been difficult to use and required heavy IT lifting in order to get the most out of them. What if an analytics system learned and continue to learn as it experienced new information, new scenarios, and new responses. This is referred to as Cognitive Computing and is key to providing an analytics system that is easy to use but extremely powerful.

Today's mobile landscape is very much a moving target. IT managers must keep track of all types of devices and platforms, hundreds if not thousands of applications and a threat landscape that changes by the minute. In this ever-changing environment, IT staff often find themselves drowning in mobile minutiae, overwhelmed by mountains of endpoint data but unable to extract meaning from it or make business decisions based on it. The tactical challenge of keeping infrastructure and business data secure while keeping workers productive each day takes precedence. And even then, IT managers can find themselves choosing between security and productivity as they decide how best to spend limited time and resources. This whitepaper will guide you how to get deep visibility into relevant endpoint data within the platform, granting actionable intelligence that can have a measurable impact on your organization.

A significant challenge for many organizations has been enabling their analysts to find the "unknown unknown." Whether that unknown is malware lurking within the enterprise or within slight variations in fraudulent transactions, the result has been the same: enterprises continue to fall victim to cybercrime. IBM is addressing this challenge with IBM i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis. By pairing multi-dimensional visual analysis capabilities with powerful analytics tools, IBM is giving the analyst team an effective early-detection, cyberintelligence weapon for its arsenal.

DB2 is a proven database for handling the most demanding transactional workloads. But the trend as of late is to enable relational databases to handle analytic queries more efficiently by adding an inmemory column store alongside to aggregate data and provide faster results. IBM's BLU Acceleration technology does exactly that. While BLU isn't brand new, the ability to spread the column store across a massively parallel processing (MPP) cluster of up to 1,000 nodes is a new addition to the technology. That, along with simpler monthly pricing options and integration with dashDB data warehousing in the cloud, makes DB2 for LUW, a very versatile database.

"Today’s business users want to use all types of data to create compelling, shareable visualizations. But charts and graphs alone may not convey all the information, especially when they are part of a complex series. An audience can best understand analytic results when those results tell a story that connects all the pieces together. The right visuals can also reinforce the lessons buried in the data. Stories are powerful mechanism to communicate with people. Stories stick and make insights actionable, so it goes without saying that storytelling is a very powerful (soft) skill. In this webinar, you'll learn how to effectively apply storytelling best practices to get your message across. Especially in the world of BI, it is getting more and more important to effectively communicate business results. As the information age matures, data has become the most powerful resource enterprises have at their disposal. Businesses have embraced digital transformation, often staking their reputations on insights extracted from collected data. While decision-makers hone in on hot topics like AI and the potential of data to drive businesses into the future, many underestimate the pitfalls of poor data governance. If business decision-makers can’t trust the data within their organization, how can stakeholders and customers know they are in good hands? Information that is not correctly distributed, or abandoned within an IT silo, can prove harmful to the integrity of business decisions. In search of instant analytical insights, businesses often prioritize data access and analysis over governance and quality. However, without ensuring the data is trustworthy, complete and consistent, leaders cannot be confident their decisions are rooted in facts and reality

Digital transformation (DX) continues to headline business initiatives as companies look to remain competitive in the rapidly changing IT landscape. Organizations are increasingly investing in and implementing next-generation applications and architectures such as software-defined IT and hybrid IT to drive higher levels of efficiency and agility. These modern technologies and architectures, however, also require organizations to evolve their underlying infrastructure to support new capabilities and demands. Recent strength in the server market, which continues to operate in a marketwide refresh cycle, illustrates the growing demand for new infrastructure. 1Q18 marked the server market's fifth consecutive quarter of both shipment and revenue growth and represented a fourth consecutive quarter of year-on-year ASP growth, as customers continue to replace aging server infrastructure with more powerful and efficient systems that leverage the latest platform developments from processor supp
