This white paper, produced in collaboration with SAP, provides insight into executive perception of real-time business operations in North America. It is a companion paper to Real-time Business: Playing to win in the new global marketplace, published in May 2011, and to a series of papers on real-time business in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
Businesses must become agile and provide differentiated service as customer demands and expectations change. Moving beyond simple phone transactions, customers are taking matters into their own hands and turning to their peers, the web and social media to find answers. Contact centers play a major role in determining the customer’s perception of a company. Often seen as brand ambassadors, agents are the main interaction point for customers. It is therefore critical that they deliver personalized communications in the channels that customers prefer. Businesses should use cloud technology to add multichannel tools and support growing demand for chat, social, SMS and video.
Digital experiences on mobile connections suffer from performance issues, and impatient users compound the challenges that slower, intermittent mobile connections raise. Firms need to build a new discrete delivery tier to improve users’ perception of mobile performance and drive conversion and engagement. By dynamically adjusting to context, this new delivery tier can adaptively send the right assets, optimize the sequence, and modulate streaming rich media. this report outlines the delivery tier technology options that application development and delivery (AD&D) professionals must embrace.

There is a misperception that cloud is more expensive. It's a common error and is largely a result of applying premises-based best-practices when comparing solution alternatives. Because standard TCO studies often fail to properly value key strengths of cloud-delivered services, they can lead decision-makers astray.
There is no doubt that enterprise cloud is a new and improved IT strategy. Cloud services have proven to improve organizational agility and reduce the burden of IT infrastructure and cost. Moving to the cloud is no longer a question of “if” but “when” and “how.” Most enterprises we interviewed are moving to cloud in phases over time and matching workloads to their perceptions of a vendor’s cloud capabilities that will best support their objectives. Many will require the ability and flexibility to support multivendor cloud and multiple deployment choices (e.g., public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud).

In The Top Technologies to Cure Mobile Performance, Forrester’s Mark Grannan elaborates on this reality and explains how firms can tackle the device, bandwidth, and location challenges to appeal to a users perception of performance.
In this paper, Mark explains:
Why a Delivery Tier is Necessary
Why Perception of Performance is the Key Metric of Mobile Success
How User Context Steers Performance Optimization
Whether to Build or Buy Delivery Capabilities
Why the Delivery Tier Alone is Not Enough to Improve Performance.

ESG recently conducted a quantitative research study to assess companies’ IT Transformation maturity. ESG found that operating a modern server environment, defined as an environment in which operations tasks are more automated than manual, led to a perception of cost parity with the public cloud. Nearly half felt their cost of compute was highly competitive with CSPs and another 48% felt it was generally comparable. This compares favorably to the 19% and 47% respectively among organizations running a legacy server environment. Download this solution brief from Dell EMC and Intel® to learn more.
The majority of enterprise software is now consumed via SaaS or cloud deployments. Despite a perception of simplicity in software acquisition, many cloud contracts require all the rigor and due diligence of contracts for on-premises licensed software. The Enterprise Cloud Buyer's Bill of Rights provides a tool for clients and vendors to change the tenor of contract negotiations from user subservience to an equal and collaborative long-term partnership.

To win the colocation race you need to be faster, reliable, innovative and efficient –all while making smarter design choices that will ensure positive returns. Customers are demanding 100% uptime and always-on connectivity –be it small enterprises to large Internet Giants–and colocation providers need to meet these expectations. The growing adoption of prefabricated data centers allows just that. With the undisputed benefits of prefab modules and building components(like speed or quality),colocation providers can manage their business today, and deploy faster in the future.
Chris Crosby, CEO for Compass Datacenters, is well-known for his expertise in the data center industry. From its founding in 2012, Compass’ data center solutions have used prefabricated components like exterior walls and power centers to deliver brandable, dedicated facilities for colocation providers. Prefabrication is the central element of the company’s “Kit of Parts” methodology that delivers customizable data center solutions from the core to the edge. By attending this webinar, colocation providers will:
• understand the flexibility and value delivered via the use of prefabricated construction
• Hear the common misperceptions regarding prefabricated modules and data center components
• learn how prefabricated solutions can provide more revenue generation capability than competing alternatives
• know what key things to consider when evaluating prefabricated data center design
While many OEMs are aware of new technologies to make machines more energy-efficient, they are reluctant to make changes due to the perception that it will make their machines more expensive to sell. The constraints of cost reduction, usage of resources and energy reduction are becoming key drivers in the industry as consumers require manufacturers to be more “green”. This paper demonstrates how incorporating sustainable design can add value to their machines and differentiate OEMs from the competition.
Digitalization is impacting every aspect of our lives and changing the nature of jobs. This IDC Inforgraphic looks at Asia/Pacific employees' attitudes and readiness for the digital economy in their perception towards the digitalization of jobs, how they are preparing themselves, and the challenges they face in becoming a "digitally-enabled" workforce.
Are automakers re-inventing the wheel with every new navigation program without creating user value? Users movement towards free mobile apps that mirror to in-dash screens may be the symptom of a negative cost-benefit perception.
But the automotive industry has an opportunity to change these market dynamics. By delivering compelling experiences that leverage their core advantages, OEMs can create touchpoints for recurring revenue streams from the IVI.
This white paper from ABI Research discusses the state of the connected navigation market, the challenges OEMs face, the industry paradigms blocking OEMs from creating customer value, and the advantages OEMs could leverage.

This report examines enterprise security threats for iOS
and Android. While Android has higher consumer market
share, iOS commands more market share in the enterprise,
accounting for 72% of enterprise mobile activations in Q1
2015 compared to Android’s 26% activation share1
The perception that iOS is more secure has helped drive
its enterprise adoption, but this perception comes largely
from security trends observed in the consumer space.
Android, with a more open mobile platform and 81%
global market share2
, predictably invites more broad-based
attacks than iOS.
When it comes to iOS and Android in the enterprise,
however, both need threat protection because at a
fundamental level both platforms are subject to similar
vulnerabilities and attack methods. iOS attacks may be
relatively uncommon today, but they have happened and
can occur. Moreover, enterprises increasingly rely on iOS
app-distribution methods that forgo Apple’s app-review and
they face the risk that attackers will cont
