A zero-day threat is a vulnerability that becomes known to the vendor on the same day it becomes known to the public, meaning IT assets targeted by a zero-day threat won't have a patch available when it's needed. However, zero-day attacks operate in a realm of the probable - they work only because there are exploitable vulnerabilities within IT systems. Many of these can, and should be prevented.
This guide describes why organizations are vulnerable to zero-day attacks, and what you can do to add a zero-day offense to your existing vulnerability management processes to protect your organization's assets and data.
Since the 1990s, email has evolved from a tool used primarily by technical and research professionals to become the backbone of corporate communications. Each day, more than 100 billion corporate email messages are exchanged.1 Security has naturally become a top priority. But mass spam campaigns are no longer the only security concern.
Protecting individual and financial data, retaining data, and meeting e-discovery requirements are common compliance requirements across geographies and industries. Finding accurate, usable, and cost-effective solutions for meeting these requirements can make the difference between achieving compliance goals or leaving the organization vulnerable through unsecured use of sensitive data. Trend Micro Data Protection solutions for endpoint data leak protection, email encryption, and email archiving help organizations meet their compliance requirements – easily and cost-effectively.
High-priority big data and analytics projects often target customer-centric outcomes such as improving customer loyalty or improving up-selling. In fact, an IBM Institute for Business Value study found that nearly half of all organizations with active big data pilots or implementations identified customer-c entric outcomes as a top objective (see Figure 1).1 However, big data and analytics can also help companies understand how changes to products or services will impact customers, as well as address aspects of security and intelligence, risk and financial management, and operational optimization.

In September 2012, the New York City Board of Health approved
a measure to ban the sale of large sodas and other sugary drinks in
restaurants, movie theaters, sports arenas and street carts in a first
of its kind restriction in the US. At the forefront of this measure
was Mayor Michael Bloomberg. The mayor noted that 6,000
New Yorkers die every year from obesity-related illness. Some
ethnic groups in the city have rates of overweight and obesity
approaching 70 percent of adults. African-American New Yorkers
are three times as likely, and Hispanic New Yorkers twice as likely,
as white New Yorkers to die from diabetes.1
Is this social policy
run amuck? Is it, as some have suggested, an infringement on
individual rights? Or is it simply recognition that health issues
cannot be treated in isolation from the many other factors that
affect an individual’s or a community’s health?

When data center architecture extends beyond even moderate amounts of sophistication and complexity, it becomes a daunting challenge for operators to understand what is going on by relying on common tools and processes alone.
Read this eGuide for five recommendations that can help you make sense of your data.
Cities are changing at a pace never before possible, bringing
smart features online daily. But smart features don’t equal
smart cities. That’s why aspiring smart cities are shifting from
siloes of smart features to a more holistic approach that
connects and makes sense of all people and things. This
shift demands technology solutions that are edge-centric,
cloud-enabled and data-driven, able to deliver citizen-centric
outcomes now and into the future.
Malicious botnets present multiple challenges to enterprises — some threaten security, and others merely impact performance or web analytics. A growing concern in the bot environment is the practice of credential stuffing, which capitalizes on both a bot’s ability to automate repeat attempts and the growing number of online accounts held by a single user. As bot technologies have evolved, so have their methods of evading detection. This report explains how the credential stuffing exploit challenges typical bot management strategies, and calls for a more comprehensive approach.

Aerospace and Defense companies delivering complex products in competitive markets must overcome many challenges to manage requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Among the most difficult challenges are integrating complex systems engineering processes, promoting collaboration among multiple engineering disciplines and enabling the sharing of intellectual property within globally dispersed teams.
Companies seeking a way to efficiently manage product requirements can leverage a comprehensive product lifecycle management (PLM) solution to:
• Effectively reuse intellectual property to reduce time to market
• Increase product innovation
• Improve overall traceability of requirements throughout the product lifecycle
This paper will highlight the criteria needed for a comprehensive requirements management solution that incorporates PLM to offer customers a scalable, enterprise-grade solution.
The business models of Aerospace and Defense manufacturers often derive revenue from a number of sources including aircraft and completions as well as aftermarket business. The shop floor affects two of these key sources of revenue. In order to grow the business organically, while maintaining margins, the enterprise needs to deliver more, through the implementation of unprecedented levels of flexible production.
