Today’s idea-driven economy calls for a simpler, faster virtualization solution—one that can be managed by one IT generalist vs. numerous IT specialists. Enter HPE Hyper Converged 380, an advanced, virtualized system from Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Based on the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 Server, this enterprise-grade VM vending machine enables you to quickly deploy VMs, simplify IT operations, and reduce overall costs like no other hyperconverged system available today.
In the past, companies have been able to adopt and utilize a business-as-usual IT infrastructure and get away with it. They purchased hardware to keep pace with data growth, managed multiple servers, and hired an ever-increasing workforce to ensure their organization succeeded. But with diminishing budgets and fewer resources, these institutions can no longer afford to carry out each and every one of these processes to maintain their IT infrastructure.

Properly managed, multi-server and wildcard certificates can provide increased flexibility. Since the consequences of a compromise can be more severe than they would be for a conventional certificate, supplemental safeguards should be employed. In the absence of these safeguards, we do not recommend the use of either multi-server or Wildcard certificates, due to both the security risks involved and the expanded scope of management issues in the wake of a compromise.

Today’s digital businesses are managed using critical business analyses that provide far greater insight into the business and how to maximize results. However, these high-value applications that use the latest software tools demand far more from IT infrastructure, as they utilize an order of magnitude more data and demand more compute resources than legacy applications. Legacy systems are no longer capable of meeting the present and future needs of the organization.
Forward-thinking IT organizations are developing new infrastructure strategies to better support high-value analytics workloads with Dell EMC PowerEdge Servers powered by Intel® Xeon® Platinum processor.

The Middleware Services Group within Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill needed a comprehensive, dynamic solution for frequent server provisioning requests and, in particular, managed servers. Without such a solution, the likelihood that users would employ outside vendors significantly increased. Use of outside vendors would potentially increase security concerns, present additional costs, and further complicate system administration. Moving to a fully-interoperable Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering, built on OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat, has allowed the middleware services team to deliver a flexible development and hosting environment that has fostered innovation and increased peace of mind.
IT endpoint management used to be an easier game: Managers deployed user systems with custom images when employees were hired, and employees returned them on their last day at work. Even during deployment, users had minimal abilities to impact systems and devices that were centrally managed. Servers resided in physical data centers where they could be identified and accessed. Those were the days!
Traditional methods of managing file transfers can't prevent or protect your enterprise from compliance violations: they're insecure, inefficient, and non-auditable.
By applying best practices, many best-run businesses have achieved a competitive edge from consolidating and modernising their EDI, B2B and file transfer environments - including their SAP processes. Learn their secret!
NetApp® SnapManager® for Oracle (SMO) is designed to significantly simplify all these tasks and more. In this article, we examine how you can deploy SMO to simplify and even automate data protection, recovery, and cloning across both primary and secondary storage. Learn more today!
This paper focuses generally on optimal storage and storage management for SharePoint and specifically evaluates NetApp's approach, detailing how the capabilities in NetApp's DataONTAP and SnapManager for SharePoint Server offerings help to drive storage efficiency, reduce cost, and exclude complexity in a comprehensive SharePoint implementation. It is not so much a "how to" guide, but rather a "why to" explanation. Learn more today!
This paper summarizes the results of a multi-year research study covering over 40 countries and based upon responses from 3,000 small and medium businesses(SMBs).
This whitepaper will examine today's SaaS opportunities and challenges, and will show how a hosting company, such as Verio, can help ISVs capitalize on the rapidly evolving market opportunities.
The usual cure for exploding file volumes is to add more general purpose file servers. That strategy eventually leads to server sprawl, which brings with it more management complexity, stranded disk capacity, wildly differing storage utilization rates and slower file access. Network-attached storage (NAS) appliances can add file serving capacity that's more easily managed, shareable, more scalable and more efficient than a sprawl of general purpose servers. Read this online article to learn about three basic considerations that can help simplify your NAS buying decision.
NetBenefit is a leading provider of managed hosting services in the United Kingdom. Faced with ever more expensive London data center costs, the company decided to implement the Windows Server 2008 operating system featuring Hyper-V virtualization technology to give it the ability to create competitively priced entry-level virtual machines to complement its existing managed hosting services.

In this free on demand webinar, you’ll get a first-hand look at how leading companies leverage Managed File Transfer to improve security, reduce risk and relieve pressure on their IT departments.
Cloud computing allows companies to use IT resources as a service, taking advantage of shared applications, processing and storage managed within the cloud - either inside a private cloud at an internal data center, or in an external cloud at a service provider. Greater robustness of the virtualized servers supporting this new IT model will ensure a resilient cloud infrastructure capable of delivering "on-demand" access to users.
