IBM Cloud Private for Data is an
integrated data science, data engineering
and app building platform built on top of
IBM Cloud Private (ICP). The latter is intended
to a) provide all the benefits of cloud
computing but inside your firewall and b)
provide a stepping-stone, should you want
one, to broader (public) cloud deployments.
Further, ICP has a micro-services architecture,
which has additional benefits, which we
will discuss. Going beyond this, ICP for Data
itself is intended to provide an environment
that will make it easier to implement datadriven processes and operations and, more
particularly, to support both the development
of AI and machine learning capabilities, and
their deployment. This last point is important
because there can easily be a disconnect
between data scientists (who often work for
business departments) and the people (usually
IT) who need to operationalise the work of
those data scientists
The endpoint security market continues to expand with vendors old and new marketing their solutions as “next generation” game-changers. However, closer inspection reveals that many new solutions have been built on old platforms, many of which still rely heavily on signature-based detection and obsolete architecture. Navigating this crowded vendor landscape can be challenging — how does the buyer find the true next-generation protection today’s targeted, advanced threats demand?
A new white paper, “The Five Essential Elements of Next -Generation Endpoint Protection,” offers guidance on how to see through the hype and understand the critical must-have elements that meet true next-generation criteria and set a new standard in EPP.

Remote offices, branch offices and small businesses have dramatically stepped up their adoption of new technology to help them run everything from typical business applications to cutting-edge solutions that differentiate their organizations. But that rapid run-up in new technology deployments has often come with a cost: increased infrastructure complexity that has become harder and more expensive to manage.

The migration from a traditional enterprise IT infrastructure architecture with separate servers,
separate traditional SAN, and separate hyperscale public cloud to an integrated hyperconverged
architecture including Server SAN and an integrated hybrid cloud is a profound change. Wikibon
explores the premise that the migration is justified, and the optimum hybrid cloud strategy is to
use the same architecture and software for both the on-premises True Private Cloud and the
public cloud services. Wikibon uses the term “True Hybrid Cloud” to describe this approach.

Download the white paper, A Highly-Tuned Hadoop Cluster, to learn how to add real-time optimization technology to performance tuning strategy to:
• Monitor and control the actual use of (and demand for) each kind of hardware resource by task
• Identify ‘holes’ in the cluster where a node could temporarily do more work
• Eliminate the need to physically separate workloads to ensure performance

• Eliminate the expense of having to physically isolate workloads
• Enforce service level agreements (SLAs) based on customer¬ defined policies
• Enable cluster usage tracking by job, task and user to speed troubleshooting and help with chargebacks

In this edition we discuss emerging risks, report OS enterprise share, and list the top blacklisted consumer apps. We conclude with our recommendations for enterprises to protect their assets against mobile risks and threats.
Several new mobile attacks have emerged that threaten enterprises. Most are re-using old tactics against mobilespecific services, such as SideStepper’s use of Man-In-The-Middle (MITM) against MDM, rather than employing new techniques or exploiting new vulnerabilities. When attacks against users are successful, they can result in the loss of both personal and business data.
Have you outgrown your accounting solution? 88% of spreadsheets have errors in them, while 50% of spreadsheets used by large companies have material defects. Today, 73% of organisations would consider a cloud ERP. Read our new whiteppaer, to find out they key benefits your company can achieve with a cloud business management solution.

This paper explores the unique perspectives of both types of organizations. The participants include two of the original 32 Pioneer ACOs; the nation’s largest commercial ACO; a major IDN that is pursuing its own ACO pathway; a large stand-alone hospital that has yet to take the formal step of creating an ACO but is experimenting with the model; and a large, independent, multispecialty physician group that is wary of stepping into the ACO waters.
The business is increasingly side-stepping the IT function to procure new technologies. Do you have the right governance in place to encourage innovation and ensure investment is directed for maximum impact?
Read this report to find out:
• how to balance the opportunities and risks from emerging technology
• how to ensure funding for innovation is available and prioritised
• where to direct funds for innovation
• why ‘guardrails’ work better than rules in the current environment.

Application performance management (APM) is an IT discipline that continues to evolve as new technologies appear. The new wave of microservices architecture and containerization has led to what is referred to as cloud-native development, and this approach has one of the fastest adoption rates of any new technology we have witnessed. With cloud-native environments there is the need to monitor and manage these new types of applications, but the challenge is that they are quite different from traditional monolithic systems.
This report delves into what the differences are, how these affect how they are monitored, and how a new generation of vendors have stepped up and introduced novel solutions to meet these challenges. We also examine the incumbent leaders in the APM market that have transformed their solutions to expand and cover cloud-native environments.
For internal support centers, the message coming from the overall
business is clear: You need to demonstrate your business value.
Outsourcing, managed services and cloud-based solutions that
didn’t exist just a few years ago are piling on the pressure.
This paper focuses on analyzing Singapore's new prime areas - Marina Bay and Sentosa Cove - as well as the emerging prime areas - Ophir-Rocher Beach Road Tanjong Pagar and Keppel Bay - against the traditional prime districts. The growing response of homebuyers and investors to the residential properties in new and emerging prime areas has helped to establish price levels that are similar to the traditional prime districts. It is a new dawn of the horizon for the nation, as changes to the urban fabric of the city state will continue to challenge preconceived idea of prime districts.

Since the early days of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for this category, there have been successive waves of innovation. Back in 2002, integrated firewalls captured the market’s (and Gartner’s) attention. Over the years, we’ve seen technologies, such as full disk encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), behavioral detection, application control, and more recently, machine learning, as effective new ways to protect endpoints, detect threats and give security teams peace of mind. Trend Micro has consistently been part of these innovation waves.
It’s clear that the market is excited about Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR). There are two drivers for this, and we are committed to delivering effective solutions in both areas.
