As our businesses become increasingly digital, we tend to think about technology in non-physical terms. Our IT infrastructure becomes “the cloud.” Our servers and storage become “virtual.” Our networks become “software-defined.”

Faster, denser technology is driving costs, and the right high performance cabling is needed to provide stability in the data center. Unsuitable infrastructure can become an expensive problem, delaying necessary upgrades and creating other potential obstacles needed to stay competitive. This report contains the four best practices needed to achieve a high performance, future-ready structured cabling solution for a data center.
It has been obvious for some time that the power distribution system within the data center is the key opportunity to focus upon in order to actively manage the rising costs of power and more specifically, identify problems and waste in real-time.
With future-thinking organizations sharing knowledge between Facilities and IT, the push for more intelligence within this rack-based power infrastructure has become urgent with higher rack power densities. In fact, proactive power management at all stages in the distribution chain within enterprise data centers has become the requirement to feed efficiency studies and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) style optimization initiatives.

Distributed cloud architectures will play an important role in Communication Service Providers’ network transformations. The distributed cloud will be made of numerous edge locations, from the customer premises to mobile base stations to central offices, each of which has its benefits and constraints. CSPs will need to consider attributes such as performance, availability, security, integration, and data and traffic volume to optimize the infrastructure for a myriad of workloads. Learn more about Heavy Reading’s survey results on CSPs adopting a distributed cloud strategy and delivering new services in this white paper.
Today’s security appliances and agents must wait until malware reaches the perimeter or endpoint before they can detect or prevent it. OpenDNS arrests attacks earlier in the kill chain. Enforcing security at the DNS layer prevents a malicious IP connection from ever being established or a malicious file from ever being downloaded. This same DNS layer of network security can contain malware and any compromised system from exfiltrating data. Command & control (C2) callbacks to the attacker’s botnet infrastructure are blocked over any port or protocol. Unlike appliances, the cloud service protects devices both on and off the corporate network. Unlike agents, the DNS layer protects every device connected to the network — even IoT. It is the easiest and fastest layer of security to deploy everywhere.
Big Data and analytics workloads represent a new frontier for organizations. Data is being collected from sources that did not exist 10 years ago. Mobile phone data, machine-generated data, and website interaction data are all being collected and analyzed. In addition, as IT budgets are already under pressure, Big Data footprints are getting larger and posing a huge storage challenge. This paper provides information on the issues that Big Data applications pose for storage systems and how choosing the correct storage infrastructure can streamline and consolidate Big Data and analytics applications without breaking the bank.
Data continues to grow at an astounding pace? As a result, data center space is becoming more scarce, as more arrays are acquired to store all of this data. Along with this data taking up space, it is also utilizing a great deal of power and cooling. In fact, the average data center in the U.S. uses approximately 34,000 kW of electricity each year, costing $180,000 in annual energy costs. As Infinidat set out to revolutionize the storage industry, one of our goals was to help consumers of storage build a more sustainable infrastructure that would be not only better for the environment, but also help them to save money as well. All of our patents come together to form InfiniBox, a storage solution that does just this.
As data becomes not only a business enabler but also the base of the business’s competitive advantage, Always On data availability has become a critical business requirement from its IT organization. With multiple potential points of failure, IT organizations have been struggling for years to design data infrastructure to meet the Always On requirement with a high cost and complexity. For a solution to be truly Always On it needs to have both zero Recovery Point Objective (RPO=0) and zero Recovery Time Objective (RTO=0). These are necessary requirements from an Always On solution but by no means sufficient.
Skilled IT teams understand that one cloud does not fit all. Compliance issues may demand that some data be held internally. Budget-imposed total cost of ownership (TCO) limits may push other data out to public clouds. Hence, a scalable multi-cloud infrastructure becomes imperative.
This whitepaper addresses key questions commonly raised by CIOs considering the move to multi-cloud. Further, it sheds light on how Intel® technologies such as the 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors and Intel® Optane™ DC Persistent Memory can help boost your cloud credentials.

Smartphones, smart cities, smart homes, smart cars—IoT has triggered a data explosion, and not every enterprise is prepared to handle it.
Beyond collecting and analyzing the increasing volume of data, organizations must figure out how to manage the velocity of that data, as well as how to integrate it with multiple data sources. And that’s just scratching the surface of the IoT challenge. To extract business value out of this inpouring of data, and to take full advantage of IoT boosted by new 5G technology, IT organizations must consider five key technologies.
In this ebook, you’ll learn about these five technologies and their benefits. To continue to develop and scale your IoT-driven applications, your infrastructure needs to be able to handle sensor data at velocity, keep data close to the edge, maintain 100% uptime, and make it easy to extract business value. The insights you’ll discover in this ebook will not only help you prepare your organization for this reality; they’ll also
