Quantum teamed up with the Communications Media Management Association (CMMA) to survey their members—media production managers from leading enterprises—to learn more about the benefits and challenges of creating video in-house.

Today, that is changing. As the cost of video production technology drops, more corporations are recognizing the value of bringing production in-house. According to a recent report by Vidyard, 85% of businesses surveyed now have internal staff and resources producing videos in-house.
IDC analyzed the business value that six surveyed organizations are realizing through their use of Red Hat integration products based on interviews conducted from April to June 2014. Interviewees were from companies ranging in size from just hundreds of employees to several hundred thousand employees, with a mean employee base of just under 92,000. Companies interviewed included representatives from the telecommunications, IT, shipment and logistics, and document management industries. These organizations are headquartered in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Norway and several of them operate on a global scale. These organizations use JBoss Fuse for integration and development of business-critical internal and customer-facing applications

The largest national multiline insurance had built a repository of Insurance policies (P&C and Life Insurance) on Microfilm and Microfiche in early 90’s, as a preservation strategy. They were grappling with issues as this technology became outdated over time:
• Risk of losing their only source of data for Insurance policies and corresponding communication, need to improve data availability and speed of claims evaluation
• Compliance issues, need of a WORM (write once read many) storage compliant with FINRA regulations, where data should be encrypted when at rest
• Total cost for digitization compared to 10-12 years of support left to maintain insurance policies was not very encouraging
• Required a low cost, cloud-based, FINRA-compliant document management solution which could provide quick access to stored data
