Now there's an innovative new way to move enterprise applications to the public cloud while actually reducing risks and trade-offs. It's called multi-cloud storage, and it's an insanely simple, reliable, secure way to deploy your enterprise apps in the cloud and also move them between clouds and on-premises infrastructure, with no vendor lock-in. Multi-cloud storage allows you to simplify your infrastructure, meet your service-level agreements, and save a bundle.
There is no doubt that enterprise cloud is a new and improved IT strategy. Cloud services have proven to improve organizational agility and reduce the burden of IT infrastructure and cost. Moving to the cloud is no longer a question of “if” but “when” and “how.” Most enterprises we interviewed are moving to cloud in phases over time and matching workloads to their perceptions of a vendor’s cloud capabilities that will best support their objectives. Many will require the ability and flexibility to support multivendor cloud and multiple deployment choices (e.g., public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid cloud).

All companies, small and large, grapple with infrastructure growth and IT modernization. For many companies, datacenter infrastructure has become an essential part of a hybrid cloud environment that allows users to consume internal and external resources seamlessly. This, in turn, is helping modernize today's datacenters and drive new levels of agility, productivity, and scale.
A common attribute of modern datacenter infrastructure is solutions that provide all compute and data services as a single system that can be managed holistically at a rack scale. IDC refers to such solutions as converged infrastructure.

Running your government agency on aging technology? It’s a costly risk you don’t need
to take. Read this GovLoop guide to learn how updating your technology foundation to the cloud can help
your agency improve productivity, efficiencies, and services.
In the face of all the challenges presented by the accelerating pace of application development and everexpanding options for deployment, IT organizations are changing how they deliver services. Traditional manual approaches are simply too slow to keep up. Yet, when application teams attempt to circumvent IT in order to speed up deployment, security, performance, and longterm manageability suffer.
To get the most out of your multi-cloud deployments, you need to fundamentally rethink how you deliver the right application services that meet current and future needs, consistently across every cloud. Standardization is key. If too much is changing too quickly, start with standardization. As your organization evolves, you will be better positioned to take the next step in making those standardized services accessible to developers through
the automation toolchains they rely on.

To better understand how companies are finding the unique, hybrid cloud architectures that best meet their needs, we interviewed executives at companies that had reduced or changed their use of managed or cloud IaaS or that chose to avoid the public cloud in the first place.
These companies include retail, social media, healthcare, financial services, and public sector companies. Some of these companies were born in the cloud while others transitioned from traditional IT infrastructures. Company sizes ranged from 300 employees to more than 300,000.
This paper explains both UC and the attraction to the cloud or specifically UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service).
