Ron the CIO challenges IT operations to cut 70% off of the application deployment schedule. Are his application, security, and network teams up to the task? How can SDN in the data center provide a powerful answer?
Olapic is an innovator in visual content solutions, offering the technology and expertise to help brands create authentic, personalized, and effective customer experiences along their entire journey. Through user-generated content – content that is earned from consumers; influencer-generated content – content that is requested from specific creators; and enhanced branded content – existing image or long-form video content that is transformed into short form videos, Olapic helps brands get the right visual content, use it across marketing channels, and understand its impact on performance and ROI.
When the numbers get this big, we tend to think of them only in the abstract:
500 million photos were shared per day in 2013 and 1.8 billion photos are being shared per day in 2014. That’s 75 million per hour, 1.25 million per minute and 20,833 per second.
Olapic’s new visual commerce white paper places this content explosion in context. We filled it with data that matters, insights from our experience with over 150 brands and retailers, and strategic guidance for companies ready to plan their approach to the visual commerce opportunity.

Download this white paper to see why securing the data center requires a solution that can:
-Provide visibility and control over custom data center applications
-Handle asymmetric traffic flows and application transactions between devices and data centers
-Adapt as data centers evolve: to virtualization, software-defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), Cisco -Application-Centric Infrastructures (ACIs) and beyond
-Address the entire attack continuum: before, during, and after an attack
-Integrate with security deployed across the entire network
-Support geograpically dispersed inter-DC traffic and deployments, including private, public and cloud environments
Cisco made Application Policy Infrastructure Controller Enterprise Module (APIC-EM) generally available on November 3rd, 2015. It is an SDN controller that supports apps that make WAN and access networks easier to deploy and manage. Cisco’s focus on a low-risk, incremental approach to adopting SDN will appeal to its user-base. Cisco needs to describe the policy control capabilities benefits of APIC-EM, and also highlight its power as a platform and its ability to distinguish apps from point solution offerings from many other companies with competitive features.
The role of the CIO has changed more in the past five years than any other position in the corporate world. IT leaders are now partners with business leaders, and they are tasked with helping companies respond to competitive pressures as quickly as possible. In an effort to improve overall IT agility, compute and application technology has evolved significantly through the use of mobility, virtualization and cloud computing. However, the network itself has yet to evolve, limiting the overall agility of IT today. These technology shifts have transformed almost every part of the enterprise. However, to maximize the potential of these investments, the network must also transform. Read more to learn how.
