The Asynchronous Database Search (ADS) provides a simple yet effective alternative to the traditional method of preparing a search query for databases and is especially useful in client-server applications over the Internet. Apart from the ease of implementation, which can be achieved in complete isolation of an existing system where necessary, ADS offers substantial savings in terms of server performance and results. Although the methods described are completely independent of any Operating System, programming language and database design, the examples provided in this publication use a working model based on HTML, XML, Javascript and ASP.
